The World Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology (WABIP) holds a biennial event known as the World Congress for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology (WCBIP). The first ever WCBIP was held in 1978 in Tokyo, Japan with Dr. Shigeto Ikeda, inventor of the flexible bronchoscope, as congress president. This landmark event was followed by congresses in host sites rotating around the world.
The World Congress for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology(WCBIP) is a biennial event hosted by the WABIP, with host sites rotating around the world. The next WCBIP will be held in Shanghai, China on April 16-19, 2020, and is co-organized by the Chinese Medical Association and the Chinese Thoracic Society.
